Windsurfing: Queen Mary Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 10-18mph Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 17 Sea Temperature: Weather: Patch cloud Max Speed: 22.7mph (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 10.6miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Wanted to get a new boom so went to QM and got one there and then went for
a sail afterwards. Most people were planing on 6.5m so I went for 5.8m as
wanted a more mellow ride. I got some good planing runs and made my way
upwind a bit, managed lots of dry tacks. Still having troubles getting the
back foot in the strap as my heel goes in the water and slows me down. Wind
slowly died, couldnt be bothered to change up so persevered planing only in
the gusts and then went for a few gybes with some success. Eventually gave
up as only the guys on Formula boards and 10m sails were planing.
Plenty of people out having fun. Just what I needed, a nice mellow session
to get used to windsurfing again.
GPS has run out of batteries when I came in so may have done more miles but
wouldnt have gone any faster as wind died.
